The Newsletter

Once a month, come a little further inside everyday France.

French school lunches, food culture, everyday habits — and the things I notice, learn and discover while living and reporting here.

Rebeca Plantier

Hi, I’m Rebeca.

I’m an American writer and researcher who has lived in France for 26 years and raised three children here.

For more than a decade, I’ve been documenting French school food and everyday food culture — including reporting from inside French school kitchens and talking to the people who prepare and organize school meals.

Lessons From France grew out of that curiosity: not an idealized version of French life, but a closer look at how things actually work here.

In my monthly letter, I share:

  • What I’m seeing and learning inside French schools and kitchens
  • Menus, stories and observations that don’t always make it onto Instagram
  • The food culture and everyday habits behind what you see in my posts
  • Occasional glimpses of family and everyday life after 26 years in France

Think of it as the deeper layer of Lessons From France.

Your welcome gift

When you subscribe, I’ll also send you The French Guide to Everyday Wellbeing.

It’s a substantial guide to the simple habits I’ve observed during my years in France — around food, movement, daily rhythms and wellbeing — and the ways they’ve influenced my own life.
